TSP Funds

There are five investment funds that are available to trade by federal employees:

G Fund
Government Securities Investments – the "G" Fund ensures preservation of capital and generate returns above those of short-term U.S. Treasury securities. There is no possibility of a loss of principal.

F Fund
Fixed Income Index Investments – the "F" Fund matches the performance of the Bloomberg U.S. Aggregate Bond Index (BND). Unlike the G Fund, which presents no risk and always appreciates in value, the F Fund presents risk.

C Fund
Common Stock Index Investments – the "C" Fund (think "C" for common stocks) matches the performance of the Standard and Poor's 500 (S&P 500) Index (VOO).

S Fund
Small Capitalization Stock Index Investments – the "S" Fund (think "S" for small stocks) match the performance of the Dow Jones U.S. Completion Total Stock Market Index (VXF).

I Fund
International Stock Index Investments – the "I" Fund (think "I" for international stocks) matches the performance of the MSCI EAFE (Europe, Australasia, Far East) Index (VEA).

The two funds that our trading model uses are the S and G Funds.
